The Urban Community of Arc de Seine is made of five towns: Chaville, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Meudon, Vanves and Ville d'Avray (165,000 inhabitants).

As an urban community, Arc de Seine aims at providing better public utilities. The Urban Community deals with :

• environment (waste and recycling and bin collection, ecology and preservation, water recycling, pollution...)
• roadnetworks (roadworks, traffic signals...)
• transport
• housing through Arc de Seine Habitat
• cultural matters : education and learning as regards music, drama and dance, and Le Cube, a cultural centre dedicated to ICT culture
• sport through their sport complex Palais des Sports Robert-Charpentier, one of the biggest sporting place in Europe

All this is done without merging towns. Each town keeps its own personality and competences (education, welfare...).
